    When should he sign up?

    We have a Recruitment Night early in each school year for any interested boys in grades 1 - 5. We also have a spring recruitment for boys going into 1st grade.

    If you miss one of these formal recruitment nights, we welcome new Cubs at any time! Our Scouting year runs from June 1 - May 31, so boys joining in the spring may not have time to earn their badge of rank before graduation, but they can still join in all of the fun Den and Pack activities!

    How much does it cost to join?

    The BSA registration fee is $10 a year. Tiger Cubs (1st grade boys) pay slightly more due to insurance costs for their adult partners.

    We recharter in December each year, so your registration fee will be prorated, depending on when you join.

    Please note that when you join in the fall, you will pay for a couple of months at that time and then will pay for a full year at recharter time in December.

    What about Boys' Life?

    Boys' Life is a great magazine and a wonderful compliment to Scouting! You will have an opportunity to subscribe when you register for a discounted rate of $12 per year.

    The articles in the magazine regularly highlight Scouting activities and there are special Scouting versions, with fun activities and cartoons geared to your son's level.
